This DIY Pan Axle kit for your JimmyJib Pro Head comes with everything you need to get your pan axle ‘smooth as butter’! This improvement adds a new pan bearing outer housing with a set of axial cage bearings installed. We also install thrust bearings & washers to the axle shaft. We have also machined threads into the end of the shaft and added a threaded shaft collar, so you can adjust the level of drag you prefer.
But this DIY kit is not for the 'faint at heart'. You'll need to remove your head cables in order to free up the axle for removal. This upgrade takes about 2 hours to perform with an Allen wrench set and snap ring tool. Replace your white Teflon o-rings with these thrust needle bearings and washers. The new housing comes with two cage bearings pre-installed. Replace your rusty steel shaft collar with a lighter 'threaded' anodized black aluminum one with stainless steel screw. Kit includes parts shown in photo. We also offer a full service version of this upgrade for +$200.
If you're not sure which JimmyJib Triangle Head you have:
The Legacy Head has a 2" (50mm) diameter outer pan housing
The Pro Head has a 2.5" (64mm) diameter outer pan housing
